Thanks.
While I have been doing my "Monday morning clean up thing" I have been thinking about your post and these are my thoughts on your situation.

If you have moved into an older established neighborhood it probably will be difficult to find companionship, but there are ways of getting around this and I don't mean by taking cookies door to door until someone invites you in. I frequent just a couple of Rec Centers and I notice that there are always small groups of people playing cards or sitting and talking in the reception areas. Why not put a post on this site suggesting that anyone in the same situation as you might like to meet for a miniature meet and greet at one of your local Rec Centers. It stands to reason that not everyone you meet will be compatible with your personality, or you theirs .......... what's that old saying "you have to kiss a lot of frogs .................". If these short meet and greets hook you up with just one person you like you could both go from there to try out the various singles groups.

.... and the reason I am interested in this subject, is because I have a long time friend who is struggling with just this problem!
