The Indy 500 always brings back memories of washing and waxing the family car under the big shade tree and listening to the 500 on radio with Dad instructing me on the "right way" to wash and wax a car. Never been as it's still on my bucket list but rarely have I missed it on radio or on television the past 65 or so years. "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing"!
I am not a racing fan, but had the opportunity to attend three Indy 500 races.

You are absolutely correct--attendance at an Indy 500 should be on everyone's bucket list. It is a spectacle that cannot be captured on television.
