I have read many previous posts and was confused about what would cause the taxes to go up.

Went to Sumter County Tax Appraiser and was told:
ONLY removing your sliders between the house and lanai would cause your taxes to increase.

Adding a/c does not cause tax imcrease.

But new regulations since Jan. 1, 2015 state if you add a/c
the glass must be low-e glass.
I'm confused> Are you removing sliders that separate the house from the lanai ( close of the lanai), or adding sliders to the lanai or both? Did the appraiser give you a ball park figure of the amount of the tax increase?
