Red, I understand, but I believe bail is a process to allow the accused to leave custody while assuring they will return for the trial. In cases where there is reasonable belief the accused will flee, bail can, and should, be denied. In this case, with a foreign passport used as ID, perhaps bail should have been denied. Maybe there are legal parameters that prohibit denying bail in certain offenses.
