Yes, they would move the club head further from the body by having flatter lies.
Basically every half inch in length is the equivalent of plus or minus one degree of lie angle.
All manufacturers specs differ a bit, but if a standard nine iron is 36" and 64 degrees, and you lengthened it to 37.5" to make it the same as a six iron, you'd need to flatten it by three degrees to make it play the same.
