Setting up online payment is simple and easy. It takes the worry out of things like this. You can set up payment to automatically deduct from your checking every month so you save time and money on stamps. I don't think I have written out a check for bills in almost 5 years except for businesses who are way behind the times (like lawn care companies). Online bill pay might be a good option for your friend to explore...
