I was going to business college in Wilmington, DE. One of my roommates lived near Dover Air Force Base. She met these two guys at a skating rink and asked my other roommate to double date with her. Reta liked him, but she was really going steady with someone else at the time. Soooooo - he got passed to me. On our first date, I knew he was the one. We were engaged 3 months later and married 8 months after that. My roommate (who introduced us) eventually married the guy she'd met at the skating rink, but it didn't last. They are still friends, however, and he and his wife are included in all their family gatherings.
