The tract of land is at Interstate 95 and LPGA Boulevard, which is the Interstate exit 4 miles north of the exit to the Daytona International Speedway. It is on "the mainland" well inland from the Atlantic Ocean.
The shuttle bus from the development to the "Private Beach Club" on the ocean is a 20 minute ride, one way. Also, there are NO "private beaches" on Daytona. It is all public, from the Ponce Inlet on the South to north of Ormond Beach on the North.
So far there has been no mention of a golf course at Margaritaville.
I'm sure there are many who will find the development attractive, but it doesn't appear that it will have the variety of activities that are available at The Villages.
Someone mentioned the congestion of Spring Break in Daytona Beach. That's not all. There is "Speed Week" built around the Daytona 500 race and "Bike Week" when the motorcyclists come to town. And, of course, Daytona Beach is a vacation destination in the Summer, and many businesses close for the winter when the tourist trade slows down.
