I should remind everyone that when the flag is hung vertically (in a window or from a garden flag staff), the stars belong in the upper let corner when seen from the road. The most common mistake is to have the stars in the upper right corner, just rotating the flag 90 degrees. Again, I love the patriotism, just do it correctly. http://eventresources.com/wp-content...can%20Flag.pdf
How can I say this without stirring the pot. A lot of folks here use proper etiquette when displaying their flags but then again lots don't. To me the most profound disrespect I see every patriotic holiday is the flags stuck in the ground by a thin stick. Never fails about half of them are laying on the ground by the time the holiday has passed. If people are going to put up multiple flags around their properties they should make sure the sticks are sturdy & long enough to withstand the weather. Please don't put them close to the curb allowing the flags to be soiled by passing motorists & golf carts splashing whatever water is on the ground.
