I agree but I am more put off by the professional karaoke singers and DJs that are put up in the squares under the definition of "live music". However, I don't think that we need to go outside The Villages for talent. There are a lot of good bands here that for some unknown reason never get to play the squares.
And as someone who has played in the squares, I can tell you that the pay is not bad. At least it was when the previous entertainment department chair was running things. I don't know if that has changed or not.
