He said that Comey was letting Hillary off the hook by saying so publicly, but he did not say that Trump was not being investigated until now, by his illegal leaks to the news media.
That was an interesting area of questioning. I do not like McCain and believe he has been attempting to sabotage Trump all along, but this was a good line of questioning.
The winner was Trump and the loser was Comey. Trump was vindicated and Comey basically tied the knot on the rope to hang himself.
Comey was fired because of incompetence. His subordinates did not agree with or like the way he MIS-handled the Hillary email felony investigation, so his department was in disarray. His own people wanted him gone, and when Trump fired him, he illegally leaked sensitive information to the media. He also vindicated Trump by answering his reason for NOT acting on Lynches demand and what he "thought" Trump meant, by saying he was "weak." A weak director is not good and should have been fired by Obama. Comey will be unemployable for a while. No one will want to hire a "disloyal" and "weak" individual like that.
