The Electoral College was established in 1787 when votes had to be counted by men going around on horseback. There was no way to collect the popular vote back then. The real question in this election may be, how did the Russians know to attack the exact electoral districts which ended up being the swing districts? Did they have help from the Trump campaign, which had the data? Today's news indicates they are going to indict Paul Manafort, chairman of the Trump campaign.
