I don't like the Electoral College for the same reason I prefer an automobile to a horse and carriage. The Electoral College was set up in 1787 when the only way to count votes was by someone going from town to town on horseback, collecting paper votes. It completely destroys the idea of "one man, one vote".
As far as urban areas, yes, they do tend to collect the more liberal and the more highly educated...since that's where the jobs are. God bless our farmers, but I sure didn't want to be one.
