No it wouldn't have...maybe some house-servants yes...but not in the fields. The REAL reason slavery was abolished is two-fold. 1st...mechanization...they just weren't needed as much as before...after gas/diesel tractors start being manufactured. And for political reasons...to decimate the south's economy. Without abundant oil...we'd STILL have slavery. You're ignorant wiotte.

They HAD factories...again...stop reading the WRONG history books. The south was simply OUTNUMBERED. The south was MOSTLY black slaves. That's what the whole 3/5ths thing was about...counting blacks as 3/5ths because there were so many of them.
The "illusions" they had was that the federal government would stand by the agreement that ANY stats could leave the union at any time, for any reason.
