I can see at least two problems if using the box number on eBay. About a 1/3 of the sellers ship Fedex or UPS, they cannot ship to P.O. Boxes, must have a street address. The other problem is when you receive an oversized package too big for a locker, such as a golf club, computer, etc. The postal worker must deliver to your front porch. So he coming from Lady Lake post office enroute to your home and only sees your name and a box number. You would probably get a message in your box, oversized package, go to Lady Lake post office to pick up your delivery.
