I think there should be some recognition for a system of building homes at the rate 150 -400 homes per month (400 per month in the early 2000's).
One cannot compare the usual onesey twosey construction subdivisions (no matter the price).
TV has been doing it for 30 some years.....
They all meet the codes of the day and regions/area.
