An additional reason to keep them,and install more, is that they serve as a nice reminder to the meaning of "STOP" to the those who don't seem to comprehend. What is plain ignorant with a golf cart could more easily be fatal with larger motor vehicle operators not complying with "STOP" sign on the road.
