Speed bumps

Why is that north of 466 we have a million speed bumps. South of 466 a few speed bumps. South of 466A zero speed bumps. I'm sick of them! Does anyone out there agree? I live in Santo Domingo...

Do you mean on the MMP's? South of 466a the MMP's are so rough they have their own built in speed bumps. :cus::cus::cus:

Cart paths south of 466A are wider and, I believe, have better visibility.

Slowly being removed, we hope.

:confused:You got a mouse in your pocket? I don't hope for their removal.... I would really like more installed where needed.

From Wikipedia:
Speed bumps (or speed breakers) are the common name for a family of traffic calming devices that use vertical deflection to slow motor-vehicle traffic in order to improve safety conditions. Variations include the speed hump, speed cushion, and speed table.(Why are WE against safety?):gc:

The use of vertical deflection devices is widespread around the world, and they are most commonly found to enforce a low speed limit, under 40 km/h (25 mph) or lower.(If people did the posted speed.... then they would not be needed.)

Although speed bumps are effective in keeping vehicle speeds down, their use is sometimes controversial—as they can increase traffic noise, may damage vehicles if traversed at too great a speed,(No damage to you or cart if you slow down.) and slow emergency vehicles. Poorly-designed speed bumps that stand too tall or with too-sharp an angle (often found in private car parks[citation needed]) can be disruptive for drivers, and may be difficult to navigate for vehicles with low ground clearance, even at very low speeds. Many sports cars have this problem with such speed bumps. Speed bumps can also pose serious hazards to motorcyclists and bicyclists if they are not clearly visible, though in some cases a small cut across the bump allows those vehicles to traverse without impediment.

No damage to cart if you slow down enough, but it's not doing my back any good. I think most of use are old enough to safely commute around villages without speed bumps. Idiots will be idiots reguardless.

Agreed. The only one left down here that I can think of is the speed bump in the tunnel at Havana. That one is probably necessary.

No damage to carts or backs if you slow down enough. Why the hurry?

Could you detail where these million speed bumps are? I drive all over the northside and hardly see any.

Concerns about MMP's should be taken to a PWAC meeting. You will need to specifically identify the item(s) or condition(s) that you would like them to look at.

Even from a dead stop before the bump and inching over I still tweak my back. I have a 2016 EZ-Go and a 2017 Yamaha quiet tek, but I’d be willing to up grade if there are carts out there with better suspension. What type of cart do you have? I assume you can get over the bumps at 5mph without even feeling them? If so I bet Buena Vista southbound between Camp Road and Stillwater also feels smooth.

If from a dead stop I still had problems with my back at speed bumps ..... I would not be in a cart!

I would be interested also in where all these speed bumps are. I live in Santo Domingo also and just don't know where the OP is seeing all these bumps.
