As cliché as it may sound, my belief is that politicians only have THEIR own interests at heart and not that of the country, and 61 years of living has borne that out. McCain and Bush thought each other an S.O.B. - but now they have kissed and made up - for the good and unity of the PARTY. Who cares about the PARTY? What about the USA? And of course, Clinton and Obama are no different.

I’m a Viet Nam 30% disabled vet an draw a retirement from the AF Reserves after 26 years total service, as well as a 20 year Federal Civil Service and 20 year Plumber union pensions. I am not so much afraid as I am tired of it all, and a registered INDEPENDENT! But I’m glad new generations of interested young voters are taking their place in the “I can make a difference” line - liberals as well as young conservatives. I hope they can make a “difference” - but I don’t have the heart to tell them I don’t believe it will happen.
