I have to say looking at the temps that many of you keep your houses at is making me feel cold. Here up north our A/C is set at 77 during the day and I only bump it down to 76 at night but keep the fan on for better circulation to the upstairs. We find it pretty comfortable unless I'm doing some heavy duty cleaning or something. Having said that our last electric bill up here was over $250! I don't think our tenant in TV has ever reached even $80 and the last time I stopped by there the house was on the cool side to me.
Just another reason why I can't wait to get there full-time. It will be nice having extra money in our pockets considering the difference in utilities and taxes. I can think of a thousand things I'd rather do with that money......
Sorry, OP, for going off topic here, but thought you would also like to know how reasonably priced the utilities are in TV. I wouldn't worry about keeping your house at a temperature that is comfortable for you. Most likely, you won't have to sacrifice your shirt to pay for it.
