Default Schadenfreude. In movies, yes. In real life, not so much.

Schadenfreude - Wikipedia

I do enjoy a good comedy with a hero or heroine falling and getting back up a lot but it is not that amusing in real life especially with the bodies of over 55 year olds. At least mine does not bounce back as quickly from falls and the like.

Any funny tales of schadenfreude? I recall that a certain employee of a dog park thought it was quite amusing when a dog would bark from within six inches regularly in front of where my zipper for my jeans was. This was a few years ago. He seemed to side with the pooch whenever I complained about how much this close proximity barking scared me and would laugh about my worries. And often he was quite loud in his laughing.

The dog did finally get used to me and stopped acting like it was going to start challenging Joey Chestnut so to speak after a few weeks of these antics.

This would be funny in a movie though but that is not real life.
