I can top that one! We have a large, in-ground propane tank with a 15-inch diameter, hinged, metal cover (it's domed and protrudes 5 inches above grade) to house/protect the valve/tubing that enables deliveries. Mower operators should (obviously) see this and avoid it. However, one time our 'service technician' went right over the top destroying the metal cover in the process...and (reconstructing based on measurement) the mower blade came within about a half inch of the valve assembly.
Imagine that phone call...hello Service Smart? Can you send someone out to replace my house? I let them know; they replaced it without quibbling. They were off my list of service providers as quickly as possible.
(I know it wouldn't have really destroyed my house but it's fun to imagine the phone call!)
