This is not bashing....this is truly how we feel. Anyone who is not bothered by those seedy areas are very welcome to enjoy Southern Oaks and all its absolute serenity and beauty. Just keep in mind what is around your bubble down there.

A lot of those "undesirable" homes have been torn down, a lot of them have been sold but still stand and are vacant, and most of those that are left are zoned commercial and have for sale signs on them. These are the areas where they will eventually build strip malls similar to those all around The Villages. You can't blame these people for holding out to get the most they can out of their properties, it was the same way in Lady Lake and Fruitland Park where there still stand a lot of "undesirable" homes just beyond Drake Road and all around TV. Just because these people cannot afford to live in a fancy house doesn't make them criminals and as a matter of fact most, but not all, of the crimes reported around TV are north of 44 and especially north of 466, very little crime down here so just keep in mind all of the crime that is surrounding "your bubble" up there. I'm not bashing the northern villages, this is just the way I feel.
