I think I should make it clear that I am not switching to the Democrat party. I will not be voting for Obama because he is a clear choice. If I vote for him, it will be because McCain has not convinced me that he is the best candidate. As unique as Sarah Palin is, I am concerned that she would not be a viable president. I think she lacks experience and polish. It's not so much her role as Vice President that concerns me as the possibility that she could be president in a heartbeat (or the stop of a heartbeat).
One of the things that would stand in my way of becoming a Democrat is that I see an overwhelming amount of intellectual snobbery in that party, and it is not warranted. I am, however, becoming weary of that portion of the conservative movement that refuses to move forward. Franklin Roosevelt said, "I do not undersand a man who has two perfectly good legs who refuses to move forward."
