I’ve just checked the CDC, and it says one cup of bleach in five gallons of water for disinfecting hard surfaces. That’s about, what, a little less than one ounce of bleach in a gallon of water. About the same as you say.

It may be worth pointing out to readers that this disinfecting solution works better than alcohol but only costs about two cents per gallon. Pour your vodka over ice and have it as a treat after you’ve used the bleach solution.
