I was wearing gloves before it was a "thing" in the USA. I usually wear gloves when I'm working with freight in cardboard boxes. I don't have enough friction on my fingertips to safely grip a big cardboard box with stuff in it. I use the gloves for friction, not protection from virii. The nitrile gloves are comfortable and fit me well, and don't break as easily as the latex exam gloves, so that's what I use. They're also really handy if you have mold or mildew in the bathroom or under the sink or in your dishwasher, and need to clean it off without getting that stuff all over your hands.
