We had Spectrum where we lived before. Since moving to TV, we went with Xfinity. I got tired of the rate increases at Spectrum for the same service year after year. It got to the point that they wouldn't make a rate adjustment no matter what. The thing that really got me was when I called about a mailer I received offering a special rate and was told it was only for new customers, not existing ones. I said "So you give special breaks to new customers but not your loyal ones?" She said "That's right." I then told her I would cancel my service and come back later as a new customer. She said it didn't work that way; I would be considered a "returning customer" and not eligible for any special rates. That did it for me!! We have a 2-year contract with Xfinity but at least my rates won't go up for 2 years. I found them to be a bit cheaper than Spectrum, but the first package we signed up for was misleading. It said 200 channels and internet for $84/month. It only ended up being some of those channels in regular format, then HD format, then foreign language format, so it looked like 200 channels when it wasn't. By the time we straightened that out so we actually got the channels we wanted (no movie or specialty channels), the bill was $125/mo. When we left Spectrum, our bill was $160/mo for similar service. Xfinity so far is okay, spotty WiFi sometimes (we live south of 44) and my husband is always complaining that the internet is slow. We may go back to Spectrum after this contract is up. We'll see what kind of deal they'll give us! It's all just a game.
