OK to the FEW people affected by, let's say, a murder or armed robbery by a Blue collar criminal, their FEW lives are affected HUGELY, intensely. I was NOT talking about the INTENSITY of a crime. I talked about which crime affected SOCIETY as a whole - millions of people - affected by losing their wealth, not their lives. Bernie Madoff did not directly kill any person ( some of his victims may have committed suicide) but he affected the lives of thousands. That affected SOCIETY greatly. I stand by my statement that White-collar crime affects SOCIETY more. Yes, an armed robbery is more intense and more obvious. I wanted to show that White-collar crime has a much lower profile than most people think. It affects SOCIETY greatly. Another downside about it is that White-collar criminals are harder to catch and convict, thus causing MORE problems for SOCIETY. They are embedded, borrowing in deep to hurt SOCIETY. Few victems get killed by them but they affect life for many more people. Less intensity but a GREATER problem. I can see why some might disagree with me. You can look at White-collar crime vrs Blue-collar crime from different perspectives, like almost everything - ying and yang.
