Just do this. For the same price you could switch out the head to a 180 or 90 or simply turn it so it doesn't hit your wall. If you do it right, they won't even notice.
The water shouldn't be hitting your wall, so if it is, you don't need to wait until January to fix it. Ultimately I'd get to know them enough that issues like this would never be a problem again. "Hey Tom, you have a sprinkler that blew out and was using a ton of water, I fixed it." "Thanks Jerry!, I'll make it up to you next time we're down" "Great, You buy the steaks, I'll grill 'em" "Awesome, look forward to seeing you soon"
