It will tell you whatever the thermostat is reading as will the Ecobee app and let you change temp by voice or control anything else that is Alexa compatible. I don't find the Alexa feature that important a feature except it has a decent speaker in it so I sometimes use it to play music.
There are also small optional wireless sensors you can put in various rooms to adjust the temp when it senses what room you are in if that room is above or below the set temp. We don't use 1/100th of it's"smart" capabilities.
