I have an Ecobee in my home in The Villages and a Nest in my other home. Installed them both myself, fairly easy process using their respective apps. If you are doing the install yourself, take pictures of the wiring connection on the back of your existing thermostat before removing. If you have a problem installing, you can always look at the picture and return to the original thermostat.
I like them both, would pick the Ecobee over Nest if I had to choose one. Both work with Alexa, and I have routines set that shut my lights off, turn my speakers off, and lower the thermostat to my preferred sleeping temperature all by saying "Alexa, I am going to sleep". How did we ever live without this?
