It is most likely the Society Hill Garlic plant you are smelling. We have them in our yard and they seem more pungent since they have been hit with cold weather.
As an aside, I own a property on Society Hill Circle in Mallory. It sounds like a pretty pretty snobby address until you realize it is named after a garlic plant...not it's residents!!
