Distance is a no biggie unless you're right next to one and 15-20 minutes by golf cart from the other. SS is more the traditional old world town center and the church is a definite plus. I kinda like LSL better because of the gorgeous lake view, especially at sunset. Bring your binocs and try to spot Sam in her hot tub -- suits optional.
I absolutely adore the stroll along the boardwalk in LSL. In May, the sunsets, temp, and humidity should be perfect for a postprandial promenade.
