Not sure sucked in is the right term, maybe deciding to live in the past not grow would be a better statement. My Dad was the same way, mostly because he couldn't learn the technology and always was frustrated with it. Nothing wrong with that, but to suggest that anyone that embraces new technology is sucked in, to me is a tad judgemental and rude.
