I see there is an Allstate agent who advertises on this forum. Ask him.
I remember seeing an article in National Geographic years ago, like 20 or 25 years ago, about the building of so many homes, so closely together, in harm's way, in Florida. Since then there have been so many real estate "booms", that the number of houses in hurricane country has probably increased by a factor of 5 or 10.
I wonder if this is what becomes of that. So much risk, financially,in such a small area that the insurance companies don't want any part of it.
And if you find a company that will insure, what assurance do we have that should a major storm destroy thousands of homes, that they would have the resources to actually pay.
Really, really scary.
