Per the law, it's a felony if you go to court and lose. Annnnd it will be on your record forever.
I said a lawyer was $500, same as ticket, $3000 makes it six times worse than paying the unregistered vehicle ticket. It's not a felony, a violation of the registration requirement is a second degree misdemeanor punishable with up to a $500 fine.
