Maybe it wasn't the same one I got, they had a couple different ones. Are you sure you didn't install it upside down or inside out?

Kidding aside, what was the problem as it was virtually put it in place, loosen 2 screws that held the 2 tension springs on top and attach the lock thing on the jam and slide in the hairy thing

that closed the gap when locked. The paper instructions were no good but they had a video online which made it clear. I discovered the grooved sliding wheels didn't go INSIDE the track but sat on top of it which took me the video to realize.
