The COVID-19 vaccinations are available for people age 60 and over on March 15th. However, no one is saying when the standby lottery signups will drop that age restriction from age 65 to age 60. The standby registration age limit should be lowered now, to get people between ages 60 and 65 registered for the standby lists, in preparation for March 15th.
The people that are vulnerable to COVID-19 that are under age 65, need approval by a medical doctor, and the vaccinations are given at a medical facility, not the vaccination sites.
Governor DeSantis talked about the demand decreasing recently. He said that the appointments for the pharmacy vaccination sites used to be gone in a couple of minutes. Now, it takes an hour to an hour and a half for all the appointments to be gone.
It will be interesting to see how many seniors don’t want or refuse the COVID-19 vaccinations. Perhaps 25% to 30% of the seniors don’t want the vaccinations. Now, It’s almost at 60% of the seniors that had at least one vaccination shot. That percentage is probably a bit higher than that because the reporting data lags by 3 to 5 days. The seniors are never going to hit 100%, because some of the seniors will always refuse the vaccinations.
