We made the move in our early 70's and our only regret is that we waited so long! Being here is fabulous; people are so welcoming and there is so much to do you cannot be bored unless you choose to.
I would encourage you to do it ASAP because the only really bad part is the packing up and moving at our age. It is grueling, and will only be harder the older you get!
