I consider a Land Rover a vehicle for those who want to look rich and don’t care that they are paying a huge amount for mediocrity. This year’s Land Rover rated 49 out of 100, and the Jaguar SUV rated 52. The Land Rover has a Reliability Score of 1 out of 5. (By comparison, the mediocre Jeep Grand Cherokee scores a 67 and has a Reliability score of 3 and the Jeep Compass a 39 with a Reliability score of 2.)

Back in the 50s and 60s, if you lived in Africa and drove off-road most of the time and didn’t mind a gas guzzler, a Land Rover was a sturdy vehicle, easily fixed. Think “Wild Kingdom” days, back when we were young. It hasn’t been worth buying in decades, and it is wildly expensive. Jaguars have always broken down a lot, despite their class and beauty.
agree, except anything in 60’s was easy to repair.
