Jaquar Land Rover sales tank over quality issues

Once the premier yuppie mobiles, Jaquar and Land Rover sales have plummeted over the latest JD Power quality report. JLR reports a lost of 100,000 sales due to quality.

JLR are now both manufactured in China. The company is now claiming they are making the necessary improvements.

Yes, JLR are now being manufactured in communist China. Enjoy the ride.

On the bright side, good sales up to 30% off for the brands are ongoing...

So much for communism.

Jaguar is owned by the Indian conglomerates Tata , if you buy your car in the USA it is most likely built in Coventry in England which is there main plant, a simple goggle would have shown that but that’s not the agenda also I lived in Hong Kong for 2 years the Chinese love jaguars and yes there is a plant there also

Yes, various plants, however North America sales still tanked.

And quality for what is expected to be a premier brand is questionable.

That was my 'agenda'. Sales ongoing now. Do your own research.

So maybe you should have blamed the English and India I read it right the first time hmmmmm

Jaguars have never been reliable. I owned an XK 140 roadster while in college and of course loved it. The old story even back in the 1950s was you needed to carry you mechanic around in your trunk.

Land Rovers are very popular among people I know but I will stick to BMWs thank you very much!

Jags have always had looks, style and performance, but unfortunately quality control was never a factor in production.
Biggest step forward in quality control was when Ford took them over, but that marriage didn't last long.
Seems they have gone back to the old ways.
I love my Volvo!

I am all for any agenda that slams communism.

Given that a gigantic percentage of what is sold in WalMart is made in Communist China, as was my iPhone and iPad, that’s probably not the problem. Even when Land Rover and Jaguar were made in the UK, Consumer Reports gave them terrible ratings because of reliability. I consider a Land Rover a vehicle for those who want to look rich and don’t care that they are paying a huge amount for mediocrity. This year’s Land Rover rated 49 out of 100, and the Jaguar SUV rated 52. The Land Rover has a Reliability Score of 1 out of 5. (By comparison, the mediocre Jeep Grand Cherokee scores a 67 and has a Reliability score of 3 and the Jeep Compass a 39 with a Reliability score of 2.)

Back in the 50s and 60s, if you lived in Africa and drove off-road most of the time and didn’t mind a gas guzzler, a Land Rover was a sturdy vehicle, easily fixed. Think “Wild Kingdom” days, back when we were young. It hasn’t been worth buying in decades, and it is wildly expensive. Jaguars have always broken down a lot, despite their class and beauty.

Buy a Jag, buy the best! Drive a mile and walk the rest!

Leave them in China

What many Buick drivers that drive Encore, and Envoy is that they’re made in communist China too. Still I see tones of them running around the Villages.

Chevy Trax their version of the Buick Encore is also made in China.

When I sold these brands and the manufactures announced that they would be manufacturing in China the first thing they said was that no Chinese produced vehicles would enter the U.S. but that that product was for the Asian markets specifically China.

The first thing they did was bring the Encore here for sale then Envoy, then Trax

And of course Cascada convertible dead seller is from Australia meant to sell against BMW, Audi and Mercedes. What a joke

BMW x7s are American built. They drive and ride great. The seats are the best.

Both brands have deteriorate drastically over the past many years. They were the industry standards for excellence, but no longer.
Now you are only buying the name.

I could blame the Brits for that piece of junk MGB I had back when.

And I had an office in Bangalore for years, which leads me to question quality coming from there also.

Always wondered how cars so beautiful could spend so much time in the shop.
