My grandparents only had outhouses on their farm well into the 1960's when they died at the rip age of 95+. Slop pots under beds for night use that had to be emptied into the outhouse each morning. Old Montgomery Ward catalogs pages was the toilet paper of choice. My dad was one of 10 kids and ran to the big city and law school as fast as he could. Real toilet paper and flush toilets were his most treasured items.
