Missing from this discussion are several things:
1. Purchase price of home
2. Current assessment
3. Millage rate; varies based on county and whether home is within city limits
4. Bond balance, original bond amount
5. Homestead exemption
Here in The Villages, the same identical model could have different assessment, purchase amount, and bond balance amounts.
Property taxes vary widely on the factors above. Even similar homes in the same neighborhood could have different taxes.
Here in Florida, increases in assessments are limited each year, unless voters approve new measures.
The Marion, Lake, and Sumter counties' property tax websites have a lot of detail for each and every home. For your own home, the home you may be renting, and even your neighbors home. Also, Sumter County has great detail on each and every home's construction plans at the eTrakit website.
Zillow and Realtor websites also have a lot of this info, but in lesser detail.
