Totally agree, but one way to help freshen up the flexible duct work is to remove the filter in the A/C unit, crank up the A/C, and spray a can of Lysol where the filter housing is. The system will suck in the Lysol spray and help disinfect the ductwork. After doing this, replace the filter, run the A/C, and leave the house for about an hour while the smell of the Lysol dissipates.
