The PGA Tour is a non profit organization. They give over $200 million to charity each year.
They supersede regular programming because they draw more viewers than most other programs. They also have an agreement with the networks that is mutually beneficial.
The only part of your money that the tour gets in through ticket sales and I believe that most of that goes to the venues. Most of their revenue comes from television rights which the networks happily pay millions for.
