KattieI and dgammon6 could you share any spots you saw that aren’t to be missed, surprising great meals etc. We are thinking we will drive from Seattle to Vegas (We have friends there) and then over to TV in fall 2011 and I am compiling a list of not to be missed spots and great eats along the way. I always have to have a plan. As we are originally from Hawaii, and have always been relocated by companies, we have flown over the continental US on our many moves but haven’t really seen it.

Hi Trudy, sorry but with 3 puking dogs in the back of my SUV, I didn't have much time to stop and enjoy sites, and definitely not restaurants. But I'm sure as you are driving, you'll see things from the road and will have time to stop off and see them. I used the AAA trip planner which gives you a lot of information about local events and also has a motels and restaurants highlighted along your route. Enjoy it, Its a beautiful country. I promise myself I'm gonna do it again,,,,, without the dogs.
