When a society begins to tolerate the actual RE-WRITING of an established author's works, they really should recognize just how dangerous those acts are ! In James Michener's book Texas, he gives examples of just how dangerous this is when he details how a state government can control the Re-writing of history textbooks. What is most frightening is, most of the younger, 30, 40 year old, generation has no knowledge of the history or dangers of censorship, no knowledge of Michener, Orwell, Pasternak (1950's Dr. Zhivago, a thinly disguised warning to democratic counties how quickly democracy can be obliterated). Regardless of an individual's political party preference, we are ALL getting plenty of red flags; plenty of warnings, but for the most part are being ignored. Not good ~ !
