When you speak of "the old days" is that before or after the 19th amendment? That right there could cut the lines in half. Or maybe you want to go back even farther and reduce the lines even more.

Absentee/mail-in voting and early voting are solutions to real problems mentioned elsewhere in this thread. The current number of polling places and technology in use simply cannot support one-day voting; come up with a solution and perhaps we can go back to that. I suspect that in a few years many of us will cast our votes from our computers and phones.

Why do people insist on making claims without looking them up first, do they really think no one will check? Proof by emphatic assertion rarely works.
