I agree with the dash cam, but I don't understand how your accident has anything to do with uninsured motorist insurance. The truck damage would be covered by collision insurance. And, if the uninsured motorist sued the truck driver, the truck driver's liability insurance would cover any liability. I have both collision insurance and $1 million in liability coverage, but zero uninsured motorist insurance. In the accident that you described, having uninsured motorist insurance would not have covered anything.
