As I understand it, the next question would be "do you have uninsured motorist insurance?" If you say yes, then they need to use it. But, if you say no, they will bill your regular insurance or Medicare. It has no effect on your insurance coverage or treatment. I think you are better off by not having uninsured motorist insurance because, if you do, you are required to use your auto insurance to pay for your medical bills. I don't want to depend on my auto insurance to pay my medical bills. I don't think Medicare is allowed to pay medical bills if you are already covered by uninsured motorist insurance in an accident. That is why they ask the question.
